During the hot season, our body is forced to work in extreme conditions. Increased air temperature changes the functioning of the body, forcing it to spend more energy on cooling. In such a situation, it is especially important to monitor your diet. Some foods can worsen your well-being, accelerate dehydration, or overload the digestive system. Let's consider which foods are better to limit or completely eliminate in the heat.

Firstly, fatty foods are the main enemy on hot days. Fried meat, sausages, fatty sauces, mayonnaise - all this slows down the digestion process and creates an additional burden on the stomach. In addition, such food increases body temperature from the inside, which is especially dangerous at high ambient temperatures.

Secondly, sweet carbonated drinks, energy drinks, and packaged juices contain a large amount of sugar and artificial additives. They do not quench thirst, but on the contrary - increase it. Sugar contributes to the loss of fluid from the body, which can lead to dehydration. In addition, caffeine in large quantities (as in energy drinks) also causes a diuretic effect.

The third category is foods rich in protein, especially red meat. Despite its nutritional value, the digestion of protein requires a significant amount of energy. In the heat, this can cause overheating of the body, lethargy and loss of appetite. It is better to give preference to light proteins: fish, chicken or legumes in moderate quantities.

You should also be careful with hot spices. Chili pepper, mustard, horseradish stimulate sweating, which on the one hand can cool the body a little, but on the other hand - leads to even greater loss of fluid. In the heat, the body already loses moisture faster, so additional irritants only complicate the situation.

Finally, alcohol is one of the most dangerous products during the heat. It dehydrates the body, dilates blood vessels and creates the illusion of cooling, which is quickly replaced by a deterioration in well-being. It is especially dangerous to drink alcohol on the beach or in the open sun - this can lead to heat stroke or loss of consciousness.

In conclusion, in the summer, the diet should be as light, balanced and saturated with water as possible. Fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, fermented milk products, a sufficient amount of clean water - this is the basis of a healthy diet in the heat. By avoiding harmful products, you can not only maintain good health, but also help the body to tolerate high temperatures more easily.
